Climate change
Our mission is to understand how change in climate will affect the water resources and present practical adaptation measures for climate change impacts based on numerical simulation of scenarios. We perform studies to investigate the impact of climate change on the different facets of the hydrological cycle including the magnitude, timing, and frequencies of the flow. We use the state-of-the-art global circulation models and regional climate models to deliver future climate time series inputs matching for environmental models (e.g. hydrological models) after bias correction using local data and perform impact studies under different scenarios of water and land management and adaptation. We also focus on:
- hydro-climate extremes such as droughts and floods prediction
- climate model bias correction using local historical observations,
- hydro-climate indicators to assess climate change impact,
- scenarios of adaptation measures and water management practices,
- reducing model uncertainties in impact studies.
