Mohamed Kefi is Assistant Professor at the Water Research and Technologies Centre (CERTE) of Borj Cedria, Tunisia. He obtained his PhD from the University of Tsukuba, Japan in 2011.  He has more than 10 years Academic and research experiences. His current research activities is related to the problem of water quality and water scarcity for sustainable use. His research interests are water resource management, Erosion and Land Degradation, natural disaster (Flood/drought), ecological economics, GIS and remote sensing applications. He has research experiences in several countries : Tunisia, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines, India and Indonesia. He was also a UNU-JSPS postdoctoral fellow at United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability  (UNU-IAS)/ The University of Tokyo Institutes for Advanced Study (UTIAS) in Tokyo, Japan between 2016-2018. He has also gained professional experience in international projects in Tunisia. He worked on the JICA/SATREPS project and he was also a local deputy coordinator on a project in Kairouan, Tunisia financed by the European Union between 2003-2007. He published several papers related to environment and water use in peer-review journals and he participated in many international conferences.
